Hand Rescue

We are all currently washing our hands and using hand sanitiser's a lot more frequently, leading to sore, dry cracked hands. If you're running low of your favourite beauty products, It might be worth checking your fridge and cupboards for ingredients, as there might be something you can make yourself. It's time to get creative...

Coconut oil is a great natural moisturiser. It contains emollient properties which help fill in the gaps between your skin cells, helping to create a smooth surface. The natural fatty acids occurring in coconut oil help sooth and reduce redness. I normally put some on my hands just before I go to bed or after a long soak in the bath.

Citrus Salt or Sugar Body Scrub

Another easy product you could make from home is a D.I.Y body scrub. Our bodies can become extremely dry almost overnight. This is caused when the body is stripped of all its natural oils, which leads to dryness. Common causes are showers, baths and heat. The following recipe is ideally best to include in your morning shower routine or after home work outs to help combat dry skin, energise you and prepare you for the day ahead. Here is a simple body scrub recipe...

  • 1/2 Cup of Sea salt
  • 1/2 Cup of Olive Oil Teaspoon of Oatmeal
  • 1 Teaspoon of Citrus Zest (Grapefruit, Orange, Lemon or Lime)

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl then rub into skin whilst in the shower (Avoid contact with eyes) and then rinse off. You're ready for the day again, if you are unable to make it yourself here is a lovely body scrub alternative....

Ways to hide an awful home hair cut

We've all been there. Your fringe is growing out and your hair is getting out of control. It's in desperate need of a refresh. You decide to take on the challenge yourself and instantly regret it. What have you done?! Do not fear....If you have just given yourself a regrettable hair cut, a quick solution would be to change the way you style your hair. If you can, start wearing your hair in a pony tail or a french braid. You can also try wearing your hair up.

Hair accessories, hair bands/clips are a great way of creating a distraction. Our Phoebe hair clips offer a way of concealing the incident. They're eco friendly and available in a range of beautiful spring colours. Depending how bad it is you could wear a hat...

Disguising your roots

Your roots are starting to show and with no access to a salon, an easy way to refresh your look can be as simple as changing up your parting. Try switching it up to a side parting or go for a middle parting. Something so small can really change your look and prevent your hair from looking flat.

Again hair accessories are the ultimate prop and distraction. Our Harper hair clip features metal teeth in the design which really help hold the clip in place all day long and keep the hair away from your face.
