If you are looking for some inspiration or something to help take your mind off things, here's our guide to our favourite Airbnb's we would love to visit, as soon as it's safe to travel again. Don't forget to share your favourite places in the comment section below.
Casa Mami - Pioneertown - California - USA
The beautiful Casa Mami is a minimal off-grid haven, ideal if you want to be completely cut off (although there are restaurants, shops and bars near by should you wish to venture a little).
With it's large open windows and French doors, I would love to read my book and sit back and watch the time go by. Apparently there is lots of wildlife to see, including mountain lions, snakes, rabbits and spiders. Who needs Netflix...?
Mid-century Riverfront Cabin - Oregon - USA
This Mid-Century cabin is situated in a forest with your own private riverfront view. It looks remote, however it is only a ten minute drive to Tillamook town and a twenty minute drive to the coast.
This beautiful cabin looks like the perfect place to retreat too after a long river walk. Maybe this is the time I take up fishing, or wild swimming in the river. After the days activities I would light that fire, pour a glass of wine and read a good book.
Villa Kuro - Joshua Tree - California - USA
This Tranquil dessert hideaway makes for the perfect escape. With large windows and sliding doors in all living area's, you are connected to the outside world, whilst staying in.
This Airbnb looks so serene. It even has a fire pit and hot tub. After a long hike across the dessert, I would get in the hot tub, sit back and watch the stars above. Ultimate relaxation.
Kirra Point Place - Queensland - Australia
'G'day from sunny Queensland, and welcome to your home away from home!"
This charming sun soaked apartment is the perfect getaway, a sun soaked space with a view of the pacific ocean. What more could you ask for?
The muted colour pallet is so dreamy and calming and the main seating area is calling my name - just what I need right now.
Forest Camping Hut - Elk - California
Rustic yet designed with comfort in mind, this adorable hut is perfect to disconnect and reconnect with your surroundings. It's Nestled in the 'Redwood' and a few miles away from the ocean.
After exploring the woods I can just imagine sitting on the porch listening to the wildlife, reading my book as it slowly gets dark.
Off grid It House - California - USA
This is the one for me! This Airbnb was voted one of the top ten best ever rentals world-wide. It is completely off-grid and self sufficient. There isn't even a TV.
If you really want to go back to basics this Airbnb looks to be the ideal set up. As you are so remote I can really imagine how dark it would get during the night time and how many stars you would be able to see from that view.
Modern Apartment - Akureyri - Iceland
This dreamy and spectacular apartment based in Akureyri Iceland is the perfect place to visit to escape it all. There are lots of activities in the area to keep you busy. These include; hiking tours, golf and how about a swim in a naturally heated swimming pool? You can even rent a horse and see the sunset. Lots to keep you busy.
After a day exploring I would look forward to returning to this cosy apartment. Imagine eating a lovely meal surrounded by that view.
Apartamento Byron Bay - NSW - Australia
This secluded apartment is nestled in the thriving creative hub. There's plenty explore and keep yourself occupied in the sunshine.
This minimal apartment is the perfect base to return home too after a busy day exploring. It has a fully equipped kitchen which ideal for an evening in. I really enjoy the less is more approach with this airbnb. I hope these suggestions help take your mind off things and offer a brief moment of escapism.
