Can we class being lost in the beauty and wonder of a store a hobby? Perhaps not, however, the idea of forgetting where you are whilst admiring the layout and design of a store can certainly be described as something quite magical.
Being extremely fortunate enough to have traveled to several new destinations with A Weathered Penny in the past twelve months has afforded me the opportunity to step inside stores rich in history and designed with purpose. In addition, several stockists who stock our collections have shared their shop interiors on social, grabbing my attention for well, let's just say a long period of time. I wanted to share with you six of these stores and hope that you too either have the chance to visit them personally, or check their spaces out online, or both...
Cherryade Life Store
Things I love - Ginny (store owner) has an incredible eye for brands, layout and details. I haven't had the chance to visit the store personally, however it's at the top of my list...Just browsing through store images online and via social these past few days and I know I could happily get stuck exploring the store for an entire afternoon. This past week, Ginny and her team have installed a beautiful festive window display inspired by the works of one of their stockists, making this a must-see store for both the locals and supporters of Cherryade.

Things I love - It may be easier to list the things I didn't like at this stage... During a work visit to NY, I took some time to head downtown and visit a store I'd be meaning to experience for sometime. From the colour palette, layout and products to the wonderful staff, this store is more than a store, it's a space to contemplate and fall in love with the brand and their core message of 'Fewer, Better'. A must-see...

Things I love - As far as curating spaces with purpose goes, Idaho stand amongst my favourites. The available products create an easy flow to follow and the welcoming sight of soft wood display units makes the store easy on the eye. If this isn't quite enough to convince you, their social bio reads "Selling design led homewares, cards, stationery, jewellery + all things lovely jubbly"....Lovely jubbly.

Things I love - In what can only be described as the perfect melting pot for shopping, drinking, eating and capturing content for social, Abbot Kinney blvd in LA is home to my favourite Aesop store. As with all Aesop brick & mortars, the rich history of the former space is blended with their unique and original aesthetic, including paint flecks, concrete sinks and the concrete floor, which work in conjunction with the product, rather than against. I caught up with the ever amazing and approachable staff to find out more about the history, their knowledge and willingness to tell me everything made this visit very special indeed.

Things I love - Conveying your brands ethos from social to brick and back isn't an easy task, yet stepping off Instagram and into Workshop Living's store is a real pleasure. The store is a wonder to behold, as is their curated selection of products and brands. A member of our team recently took time to visit the store (it's on my list I promise) and told me everything upon her return to our studio. If simplicity, design and functionality are some of your passions in life, head down to Brighton and spend the afternoon browsing the store, getting to the know the team and share the Workshop Living word....you won't be disappointed.

Things I love - Since 2009, husband and wife duo Alex and Rachael travelled the world absorbing all they can to bring the people of Manchester a unique and carefully planned store. Having done so, the end product is a beautiful store with curated gifts aplenty. Genuine love for their featured products is present in their story and store. Nothing is a-miss. Pop along and purchase carefully made products you can treasure for a lifetime. (Also, go check out their online journal for an array of inspirational posts.
